CDM Compliance

Contractor Audits

A formal system for effectively managing contractors working on a company’s premises.

CDM Compliance (CDM Co-ordinator / CDM Compliance / CDM Health and Safety Files)

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM) can help you to:

  • Improve health and safety in your industry
  • Have the right people for the right job at the right time to manage the risks on site
  • Focus on effective planning and manage the risk - not the paperwork

Everyone controlling site work has health and safety responsibilities. Checking that working conditions are healthy and safe before work begins, and ensuring that the proposed work is not going to put others at risk, requires planning and organisation. This applies whatever the size of the site.

The Regulations set out the way in which all construction projects should be designed during the life of the building (from concept to completion, maintenance and finally to demolition).

CDM Co-ordinator:

Futuresafe can provide you with CDM Co-ordinators who have the knowledge, experience and resources necessary to ensure successful service delivery regardless of the size or complexity of the construction project.  Our CDM Co-ordinator Services are tailored to suit client business needs whilst ensuring compliance with the regulations and industry best practice.  The CDM Co-ordinator will deliver maximum value by challenging the design as the project progresses, and not after completion and handover, assisting the design team to understand the issues as they arise.

Health and Safety Files

Health & Safety Files are the means by which health and safety information is recorded and kept for future use throughout the life of a building.  The team at Futuresafe have years of experience in collating and preparing CDM Health and Safety Files in both hard copy and electronic formats so that the data can be handed over easily to the next team taking ownership for the building, ie, new build handover, refurbishments, new owners, and demolition.

Health and Safety Management System & Safe Systems of Work (SSW)

The Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 Section 2(3) states that: “it shall be the duty of every employer to prepare and, as often as may be appropriate, revise, a written statement of his general policy with respect to the health and safety at work of his employees, and the organisation and arrangements for the time being in force for carrying out that policy, and to bring the statement and any revision of it to the notice of all of his employees”.

Futuresafe specialises in the production, implementation and maintenance of health and safety policy documentation and its associated systems and procedures specific to the company’s operations and work activities.

We develop with the company a comprehensive Management System enabling that company to have a formal process for the management of health and safety throughout the organisation.  This system is a working document and is used by the company on an on-going basis, showing their commitment towards a pro-active approach to the management of health and safety.
